Sarah Palin And Other Personality Types
67Breaking It Down
Personality types are often ignored in political science classes, perhaps even in the classes taken by Sarah Palin during her college days. There is plentiful discussion of various types of government--theocracy, monarchy, plutarchy, dictatiorship, oligarchy, you name it--but what of the citizens the government is attempting to govern? Don't those who wish to be the boss of you realize they're doomed to failure unless they know not only who but what you are?
Seems logical to me.
The thing is, both sides of the political spectrum--left and right--tend to simplify how they see the opposition. Take it right down to black and white, they do. No shades of gray, at least not beyond labels like "moderate" and "Independent". Those of us on the right need a little more insight than that if we're to restore America to the sort of Constitutional Republic it was designed by the Founding Fathers to be. With that in mind, Ghost32 Productions presents:
The COP SLUGS KID personality identifier for the politically minded. One by one, then:
Controller types are driven by the deepseated belief that people in general are unworthy and must be held in check by the superior few--in which class, of course, they include themselves. Nothing rattles their cages more than seeing a human being they cannot control, such as a Sarah Palin or a Glenn Beck. Like any true obsessive, they often become irrational, dangerous, even physically violent under these conditions.
Opressor personalities start where the Controllers leave off. A mere Controller remains unconcerned when a citizen does well, for example by building a successful business, as long as the person in question does not challenge the current power structure. An Oppressor, on the other hand, can't stand seeing anyone else doing well. This bundle of joy is the one behind the Robin Hood complex: Gotta rob the rich to feed the poor, redistribute that wealth, make 'em all poor...except of course for the Oppressor himself (and his buddies).
A Patriot is defined (for the purposes of this personality mini-dictionary) as anyone willing to (a) honor the flag and our military, (b) vote consistently against the Oppressor types, and (c) stand up for the Constitution no matter what the cost. Patriots may be of limited intellect, literal geniuses, or anywhere in between--I.Q. is not a qualifying factor one way or the other.
Got a headache yet? Head feeling as stuffed as the belly of a pregnant horned lizard? Hang on! It gets worse.
Moving Right Along
Slave personalities need to be carefully considered...and they seldom are. We who honor Liberty above all else save God alone are notably loath to even look at the idea that some people may be natural slaves in the way they think. But there are people like that, people who do crave to be told in detail what to do, how to live their lives. We need to understand this. To that end, I share here an experience from my insurance underwriting days in La Jolla, California, where for several years I was a Home Office Underwriter and Department Supervisor for a highly successful regional insurance company.
One day a young lady we'll call Barbara was assigned to my unit. She was the top rater in the entire company, able to turn out a higher quantity of insurance quotes with greater accuracy than any of her fellow employees. It was a mark of the boss's esteem for me that she was put under my supervision.
It was a disaster. Within a matter of days, Barbara had requested and received a transfer out of my department. Why? Because she could only work with the closest, the tightest of supervision. She expected and needed to have a pile of work placed in front of her in the morning that would last until noon. By one p.m., she needed a second pile that would last the rest of the day. Under those conditions, she flourished.
But I don't work that way, especially not as a supervisor. I'm no Carter, no Obama who feels he must micro-manage every crisis in sight and thus gets bogged down endlessly. The other underwriters in the group--three of them--all appreciated my leadership style: Look around on your own, see what needs doing, and do it. We'll look at how things are going in the weekly department meetings; other than that you won't have me looking over your shoulder unless an emergency quote comes up.
In other words, that "lack of control" by her boss (me) made Barbara feel so insecure she couldn't take it.
This will probably be the longest illustration of a personality type in this entire hub, but it seemed important, even critical. We tea party types would like to believe that with education, even those who love Obama today may well turn against him tomorrow. But they won't. Not all of them. Those who need to be bossed around, those who think as slaves, will not turn on the Man Who Would Be Emperor.
And we need to understand that.
Lazy people? Yeah, we know about those. 'Nuff said.
Unaware individuals obviously comprise the main group we want to reach. They're not stupid, just uninformed.
Gullible folks are a real problem...on both sides of the aisle. These guys & gals take every tabloid type of tidbit served up by "their side" and swallow it, hook, line, and sinker. Then they repeat the most obvious foolishness as Gospel. Both liberals and conservatives have to be nervous about the gullible among us, primarily because they can be suckered into believing almost anything. You never know where they stand, because they might not be standing there for long.
Soldier mentalities provide the bedrock of any political party or movement. They're not stupid, they're aware enough to understand the issues, and they're willing to slog through the mud on behalf of the platform put forth by their leaders.
And Finally....
Klingons are those invaders who are out for themselves, pure and simple. In our Arizona Border War, many of those who choose to cross the border illegally are Klingons. Any Klingon who gains the right to vote in this country will always be thinking, "What's in it for me?"
The few truly Inspired people among us are both rare and invaluable. They see the reality of American politics clearly and in depth, they are moved from within to do whatever they can about it, and they in turn inspire others. In this category at this time, I see just two such individuals who've gained the national stage: Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.
But let's not forget the Defender. The Defender does not magically sprout followers like the Pied Piper of Hamlin, but he or she does see clearly and chooses to stand firm for the principles on which this country was founded. Likewise, a Defender will tend to attract at least a few others of like mind. In this category, I see people like Rush Limbaugh (why I consider him a Defender rather than an Inspired is material for another hub), Sean Hannity--in fact, most of the talk show hosts--and me.
Why is it important to understand COP SLUGS KID or some other system explaining the complexity of the mentalities among voters? Because it gives us an advantage in the war to restore our country. Knowledge may or may not be power, but ignorance is definitely a long walk off of a short pier.

I went all the way through the article wondering what 'COP SLUGS KID' had to do with any thing. And then, an epiphany occurred. Well Done, and memorable too.

Enjoyed the hub, and your 'personality' types. :) I'd say America is most at danger from Oppressor types from both sides of the aisle. A pairing of the Charismatic Opressor and the Gullible moves elections for sure, as the gullible are held in thrall of the magic message.
The coming 'New World Order' that has been used as an ominous one-liner in hub comments and the forums will at best be a return to a modern-style Roman period, the anointed ones and the commoners, all expected to be happy with the blessings bestowed on them - a gap between the rich and the poor like never before.
