Open Letter to President Obama : The Limits to Power
65Dear President Obama:
It has come to my attention that when you were elected President of the United States, you apparently believed the office included unlimited personal power to be wielded as you chose.
This became painfully evident as We the People watched you force Obamacare through Congress against the clear will of the poeple, announce to a rapt audience in San Francisco that your Cap and Tax policies would necessarily cause electricity prices to skyrocket (your own words), and most recently state that the violence in Syria "must end now" as if you expected the leader of that sovereign nation to hear more than wind when you spoke.
As one AP article put it,
He called on Assad to change course and obey the will of his people by giving them what they seek — freedom of expression, association, peaceful assembly and the ability to choose their leaders.
Mr. President, you say these things--despite refusing to obey the will of your own people--as if you expect to be instantly obeyed, as if you were the Lord of all Creation with infinite power to enforce your iron will upon any who displease you. This viewpoint seems to be a central pillar supporting your entire psyche, allowing you to proclaim with certainty and with very little information whenever you believe the police have acted stupidly, whenever you are filled with glee at the high price of gasoline, or whenever you choose to continue your vacation after a terrorist attack by a radicalized Muslim which kills a "mere" thirteen of America's finest at Fort Hood while wounding "only" 29 others.
Yes, you clearly believe you are the most important Being in the Universe, or at least on planet Earth, and must be obeyed as such.
You are, however, badly mistaken. Let me count the ways.
The Limits To Your Power
The following examples are but a few from many that could have been chosen:
1. You have attempted to shut down drilling for oil as completely as possible during your single term in office, and you have indeed caused much damage to our nation's energy industry...yet there are still several drilling booms ongoing within our borders.
2. Your foreign war ramp-up is ludicrous. Iran is poised to take over Iraq the split second our troops depart in full, so you avoid leaving that country until the 2012 elections are over and done with. Afghanistan is more of a quagmire now, even, than it was for George W. Bush. Libya is an ever tightening noose around your neck. And now you're tongue-rattling against Syria? Beware, Mr. President. You may see yourself as a lion on the veldt, but Arab leaders in the Middle East know you for a buffoon at the buffet...perhaps even as the buffet itself. Take a bite out of Obama.
3. You persist in believing that you will, in the end, make Obamacare stick. As it happens, yes, it will stick in the end--its complete defeat and utter failure will stick in the history books as the signature of arrogant incompetence. McDonald's has announced plans to hire more than 50,000 new employees...after they became the very first large corporation to obtain a waiver from Obamacare. Do you seriously, sir, see this as a coincidence?
4. You agreed to a budget compromise, a deal cut between you, John Boehner, and Harry Reid--and at the very moment of signing, reneged on a major portion of that deal. This indicates clearly your utter disdain for both the Senate and the House, your conviction that you are all-powerful while they are irrelevant. Yet this is not so, and it would seem more than likely that you may pay the price for your presumption during the upcoming 2012 budget and debt ceiling battles.
5. You have attempted verbal put-downs of the Supreme Court and have even tried telling them what cases they should or should not review...and the rulings they should make. Un. Be. Lievable.
Enough. The list is endless, as are your errors. You scorn the Legislature, presume to denigrate the Supreme Court, sue the very States you are charged with protecting, attempt to rule the schools, try telling us what to eat, take over General Motors and sell it back at a loss, and...hang out on vacation--lots of vacations--or the campaign trail.
In closing, I remain as ever your determined NRA Life Member, Constitution supporting, right wingnut Tea Bagger crackpot and conservative activist, willing to vote for Elmer Fudd if it will save the Land of the Free and the Home the Brave from four more years of Obamanation. More than anywhere else, the limits to your power can be found at the ballot box.
Sincerely,
Ghost
P.S. Remember in November 2012.

If his oppenent this time doesn't pull out volumes of video on this guy something is wrong.
This time he couldn't just vote "Present." Instead he goes on vacation at the critical times.

I voted this Up, Useful and Awesome. I'm sure you can understand why I didn't vote Funny. This guy and his following scare the hell out of me. We need to make sure this guy doesn't win in 2012. With all the havoc he's caused in his first term, I think that it will pale in comparison to his second.
Thanks
Chuck

Outstanding letter and it is spot on. I can't understand how so many people can be so blind to this behavior! Up and awesome.

Good rant. I have enjoyed your take on our dictator. Thank you for putting it into clear words for us.
I have no problem with you stating that Obama is wrong. Many politicians are. I have a problem with you saying that he is going against the will of the people. I think it would be more accurate to say that he is going against the will of 'some of the people.' I definitely know many, many people who want Obama care.
