Obama's So-Called Debt Reduction Speech : The Transcript
65Believe it or not, I've actually read the transript of Obama's (so-called) debt reduction speech. Not that it helped much. But a few phrases and sentences, even a rare paragraph, did stand out a tiny bit--sort of like those lumps stand out in your oatmeal when you don't get it quite right, but not as much as a tasty raisin or a pinch of cinnamon.
For example:
"...I kept the government open...."
He kept the government open (via the recent budget talks between the President, Harry Reid, and John Boehner)? Singular?? This phrase serves as the penultimate peek into the mind of the nation's number one narcissist. The difference between Barack Obama and Tucson madman Jared Loughner is simply that the latter was limited to a 9mm Glock as his weapon of choice...while the Apologizer in Chief has his finger on the trigger of a liberal agenda capable of taking down the entire Republic.
"More than citizens of any other country, we are rugged individualists, a self-reliant people with a healthy skepticism of too much government."
Huh. Who wrote that line for him, do you suppose? I mean, it ain't bad at all, but it surely doesn't fit the Government Grower in Chief's spin on the world....
Big Zero--uh, I mean Big O--then moves to the topic of security in the entitlement sense, talking about Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc...and throws out this little gem:
"...we would not be a great country without those commitments."
You. have. got. to. be. s***ting me. Apparently, Mr. O-bomber, you're saying here that when we kicked the British out of the Thirteen Colonies via the Revolutionary War, we were what, chopped liver? Abraham Lincoln was the President of a not-great country in the 19th century? We the People are defined by our country's current set of entitlement programs?
Dude, get over yourself!
[after year 2000] "...we made the problem worse with trillions of dollars in unpaid-for tax cuts - tax cuts that went to every millionaire and billionaire in the country...."
Here for the gazillionth time is the heart of the Obamanation: The viewpoint that taxes, even taxes not yet levied or collected, are the property of the government in advance. "Unpaid-for tax cuts." What kind of bull puckey is that? You can rightly say that government bills get paid with tax dollars, but a tax cut is not stealing from the government. Tax dollars are stolen from the people. It's not your freakin' money, Barry! But you and every liberal from coast to coast and border to border believe otherwise, and that's the crux of the Forever War between liberal and conservative perspectives on the world at large.
[Obama administration] "...we took a series of emergency steps that saved millions of jobs, kept credit flowing, and provided working families extra money in their pockets."
Man. I almost wish I'd been a stone hippy back in the day instead of a redneck cowboy, 'cause I really do find myself sort of wishing for a pinch of whatever the Oval Office Oaf is smoking these days. "Saved" jobs are a known B.S. factor, of course; nobody can prove whether a given federal policy did or did not save a job. Credit flowing? I still couldn't finance a water tanker truck, now any more than in 2008, but what do I know?
Ah, the "extra money" in their pockets. Most of us here at HubPages know a few folks who qualify as "working families", not infrequently including the dude or dudette in the mirror. Barama no doubt refers to temporary payroll tax cuts, but he misses the key point: You have to have some money in your pockets before you can have extra money in those selfsame pockets.
Do you know any working family packing extra money in there with the moths?
[Referring to any plan that does not include taxing the wealthy more heavily.] "That's not right, and it's not going to happen as long as I'm President."
And also:
"We'll invest in medical research and clean energy technology. We'll invest in new roads and airports and broadband access. We will invest in education and job training."
Yep, there you have it. Toward the end of his speech, out comes the truth of the matter. All we really need to understand is that whenever the Imposter in Chief uses the word invest, he means spend. Thus we have:
"We'll SPEND, we'll SPEND, we will SPEND!"
Mr. President, you've said this will be the situation as long as you're in the White House. Rest assured, you won't have to suffer that indignity much longer.
Remember in November 2012.

another part of his speech that stuck in my crawl is where he quoted Lincoln with;
"We believe, in the words of our first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, that through government, we should do together what we cannot do as well for ourselves."
He left out the next line from Lincolns speech that says....
"In all that the people can individually do as well for themselves, government ought not to interfere."
I repeat.....government ought not to interfere!
Fortunately I missed the speech due to a prior commitment, but I obviously didn't miss much, thank you for the info.

I noticed that with Congress getting a raise this year. SS and VA disability haven't gotten a raise in 2 years now. Prices have not risen except in food and gas, which are not counted. My rent went up.

The best line was: "spending reductions in the tax code".
What does that mean in plain English?
Raising taxes!
Then they wonder why we call them double-talking liars.
