Obama in Rio : The Nonresident President

62

By Ghost32

Under the Rainbow

Somewhere under the rainbow, taxpayer money spent

There frolics in the sunshine our nonresident President

Whether he was born in Kenya or Hawaii I don't care

When it comes to hands on leadership our leader isn't there

===============================================

He's like a schoolyard bully, being mean to smaller kids

He beat up on Wisconsin yet the Dems are on the skids

But when Gaddafi started shooting and the earthquake hit Japan

Obama went to Rio; once again he's on the lam

===========================================

I have a friend in India who said it very well

"Obama is a major disappointment "--he's lost that magic spell

Cramming through Obamacare is what he thinks is good

Yet he stayed on vacation when Hasan shot up Fort Hood

===============================================

His capital in politics is truly overspent

Spending time out on vacation, our nonresident President

But when Gadaffi started shooting...

He launched a moratorium against drilling offshore

When that was found illegal, he just used another door

He's shut down drilling even on high, dry Wyoming land

Ghost towns abound where now petroleum jobs are truly banned

=================================================

He's dared to tell the Supreme Court in his exalted view

Why they should not even take on his highly toxic witches' brew

Were I a Supreme Justice, even Sotomayor

I'd vote against his arrogance, show Obamacare the door

=============================================

He can go shoot basketball or make March Madness picks

At least he's not been caught with one of Clinton's easy chicks

But then again, Tea Party friend, he's spending left and right

If he lived here he'd have to know the end is now in sight

=============================================

2012 is coming, potential candidates are here

Before too long we'll pick a nominee and start to cheer

When the votes are finally tallied and the message clearly sent

We will make Obama a White House nonresident

============================================

'Cause we don't need this clueless, weak, nonresident President!

Thanks, Will. I do try to write about other things, but our nonresident President just keeps lobbing up those big, fat, commentary-magnetizing, irreisistible targets....

Once again Smirksalot fiddles while Washington burns. Spot on Ghost. I seem to write a lot about the Smirky one myself. Chuckles to self.

Up and awesome to you.

Up and awesome. This man is an arrogant, entitled and detached human being. He certainly isn't a president.

By the nature of my Hub name, it's kind of obvious that I would not like this President. Enough said. And I have one word for this Hub. Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding. OK, that was three words. But I couldn't help myself.

Up and Awesome. Thanks

Chuck

And where is the media on this? Whenever Bush went to his Crawford, Texas ranch or played a round of golf, the media had a fit!

Come to think of it, since we are fighting a war in Afghanistan, where is anti-war Cindy Sheehan? Why isn't she camped out in front of Obama's house in Chicago?

And where is Code Pink?

The Frog Prince: I'll have to check out your "stuff" regardings Smirks--haven't yet, but will as soon as I get through this passel of 'pinions here!

Pop: Yeah, I do agree, he's not. Had to use the term for purposes of this hub, though, or I'd have had nothing to rhyme with "nonresident".

Chuck: Hey, when you're passing out kudos, you can count 3 words as 1 any time you like!

Venca: As in, a la George Peppard in The A Team, "I love it when a plan comes together?" 2012...2012...2012....:)

Stan: Sometimes it just rolls on through and writes itself. (This was one of those times.)

Tony0724: That was certainly the motivation for this hub. I really respected George W. for realizing it was just wrong to continue playing golf when men and women under his command were dying in combat on a daily basis. When it comes to Obama, I can't even respect his hook shot (which, I've heard, really sucks).

CMerritt: There's certainly no lack of material, is there? We didn't even get to the border issues, or Cap and Tax, or....(ad infinitum).

Will: All good questions. Let's see...where is the media? In the tank for Obama. Cindy Sheehan? She's probably still at Crawford, screaming at Bush. Why isn't she in Chicago? Dangerous neighborhood, unlike Texas (I'll hear from the Texans now for sure, but hey, don't take it that way--not saying y'all can't handle yourselves, just that you tend toward a mite more courtesy than some of the Chicom...excuse me, Chicago muggers.)

That leaves Code Pink. Heard they had a nuclear meltdown and went to Code Red.

Are you not an apostate, Sir, Mr. President?

Ghost32 profile image

Ghost32 Hub Author 14 months ago

Can't believe I never thought of that one! If Obama was practicing the Muslim faith as a child in Indonesia (which by all acounts, including his own, he was), and he later left the faith to practice Christianity....

Hmmm....

Perhaps the Qur'an makes an exception if you leave at a young enough age?

Perhaps the Quran

It's a moot point though. Not at all uncomplicated.

Guess it's time I start reading. Reckon a whole passel of radical Jihadists ought to appreciate my interpretation of their sacred text, eh?

Remember in 2012.

I too am curious about what the Qur'an has to say, about divorce though, instead of leaving the faith. What does it say about divorce? Does it treat divorced women differently from divorced men? And what about their children?

chander mehra 14 months ago

Divorce is painful. In Islam, it is clinical agony from the perspective of the female.

I certainly don't know enough (yet, anyway) to comment on Chander Mehra's perspective, but you reminded me that I read the first 2 Suras (chapters) of the Qur'an 2 nights ago and then forgot all about it last night. Need to get back at it.

In the 2nd Sura, divorce is discussed at some length. From what I read (so far), it looks like the man can divorce the woman--but I didn't see any provision for the woman to divorce the man. (I was tired, though, so don't quote me.)

A man can "un-divorce" a woman after he's divorced her, apparently, unless he's divorced her three times. She's not to hook up with a new guy for several months after a divorce--just in case she's pregnant by the ex.

There are definite statements that a man who divorces his wife is to treat her kindly.

How most men actually act as compared with what the Qur'an directs them to do, though...that is ever the question, is it not? (I'm thinking the Christian Bible doesn't exactly encourage Priests to act out with young boys, for example.)

Don't remember about the children--or maybe I've not gotten to that part yet.

What was most interesting to me is that much of the discussion involves prominent Biblical figures ranging from Abraham to Jesus.

Better get a cup of coffee and set to reading....

As I'm fond of saying, "Smirkalot Fiddles While Washington Burns."

A repeat post per se but it all still applies.

Good Hub and a vote up for your awesomeness Ghost.

Chander Mehra, I figured out what you just said...I think! LOL! That wording is about as fancy as some of the Administration's aruguments in favor of Obamacare!
