Nancy Pelosi Passes Partial Tax Package : The Lame Duck Empress Has No Clothes

The Arrogant Empress does it again: In one of her last-gasp efforts as Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has rammed through a partial tax package which still hammers those making over $250,000. As one Fox News contributor put it just last night, this isn't even really a lame duck Congress; it would be more accurate to call it a dead duck session.

So, naturallly, Pelosi pounds the People--not just her tainted gavel--by forcing through a measure that isn't going anywhere, anyway. The Senate will kill it. She knows this, right...?

Right.

Why would she do such a thing? After all, it's an absolute waste of the legislature's time and effort. What might be her motives?

Different folks have different takes on this, but here's one Ghost's best guess:

1. Pure, infuriated defiance of the will of the People. The American voter is nothing but a mindless, light-avoiding, garbage-eating cockroach to the Naked Empress.

2. Ideology. She really does believe in the left's radical agenda, being the only U.S. Misrepresentative I've found to date (though there may be others) whose voting record follows the party line 100% of the time. Even Raul "Boycott" Grijalva doesn't do that. Only Nasty Nancy.

3. Declaration of War, 2012. She may well believe (Oh, she's a true believer!) that by forcing the Senate Republicans to take a hard line, she can set up really cool tin can targets for the next election cycle. Except, of course, she's rabidly anti-gun and thus wouldn't "get" the "tin can" image. But other than that.

4.  She feared her whipmasters on the left enough that nothing else mattered; she had to be seen as trying to pass this bucket  of bilge water.

Only a true radical could get it so perfectly wrong. Cast from the same mold as Mike Castle, Lisa Murkowski, Harry Reid, and yes, Barack Hussein Obama himself, she possesses the ultimate "insulated mind". Such a brainpan allows for no intrusion of anything so uncomfortable as mere reality.

A friend and former neighbor of ours by the name of Lou works at the Cascade County Jail in Great Falls, Montana. Lou once told us his four-step philosophy for working with people being booked who had such insulated minds--such as, specifically, drunks:

Step #1: You can't talk to a drunk.

Step #2: You can't talk to a drunk.

Step #3: You can't talk to a drunk.

Step #4: They go in the tank.

House Speaker Pelosi is already in the tank, so to speak, but the principle holds: You can't talk to her. Or, more precisely, when anyone possessing a touch of common sense attempts to talk to her, she hears only the wind. And perhaps sees one more commoner cockroach to be stomped on and/or ignored.

She'd have been much better off taking to heart the lesson provided by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. After all, not unlike that ill fated drilling rig, she is going down in flames.
