Mitch McConnell Heart Barack Obama, A Love Story

By Ghost32

Once upon a time in a far-off land known as DeeCee, there was a Power Accumulator in Chief named Barack Hussein Obama. Now, this PA (Power Accumulator) was a very, very sincere sort of Execu-Critter, and the thing he was most sincere about (besides spending money) was accumulating power unto himself. He was very, very good at it, too.

He signed Executive Orders which brought him more power

He criticized and ignored the Supreme Court of the United States, which gave him more power.

He utilized the Signing Statements for which he had severely criticized his predecessor, which gave him more power.

He spent and spent and spent on programs for people who paid no taxes so they would vote for him and give him more power.

He mocked anyone who dared to challenge his Execu-policies, which he thought gave him more power.

All these things he did and more, accumulating ever more power unto his narcissistic personality disorder self.

"Power power POWER!!" He danced in the darkened confines of his personal bathroom when no one was looking, cackling and giggling and rubbing his hands with glee. "POWWWWERRRR!!"

Yes, the PAIC, the Power Accumulator in Chief, definitely liked power, and more than just a little bit at that.

Congress-critter Mitch McConnell.
Congress-critter Mitch McConnell.

On the Hill of Congress-critters, there lived a naive and cowardly little beastie known as Senator Mitch McConnell. This Congress-critter loved President Obama, or at least it is so believed by those who should know, because of what happened, what Congress-critter McConnell did one fine day in July of the Year Before the People Took Back America. The McConnell-critter had no power of his own, being no more than something called a Minority Leader--which is closely akin, they say, to the ever-familiar Leader of Losers--in the Upper House on the Unholy Hill.

There were communications going on. The PAIC wanted more power in the form of ever greater Taxing and Spending. The Boehner of the House did not want to give more power to the PAIC without being able to take as much power away from him in return.

"Gimme!" The narcissistic nudger from the land of fiscal lunacy would say daily.

"Nuh-uh!" The Boehner would reply.

"Snrg!!" The Hoary Reid, Winner-Boss of the Senate would insist, though no one had any idea what he was saying.

Then one day, though 'twas not his place to do so, Critter McConnell fairly burst with a brilliant plan.

"I know," he thought to himself, "I'll fix this problem, and then that beautiful PAIC man, that glorious President Barack Hussein Obama, will become my BFF, my Best Friend Forever! I'll just tell everybody we need to give the man MORE power! Why, it's brilliant! I'm alreadly irrelevant--why not just make the rest of the Senate as irrelevant as I am, right along with me! Checks and balances? We don't need no steenking checks and balances! Plus of course, I'll get to throw that blasted Boehner right under the bus at the same time. Brilliant! Brilliant, I say!"

And so it was. Congress-critter McConnell put forth his plan to let the PAIC, the Power Accumulator in Chief, raise the debt limit all by himself, more or less. Power to the Prez! Pooey on the People! We need a Dictator! CAESAR! CAESAR!

Remember in November 2012.

Becky: This is not yet anything like a done deal, but IS a "last ditch", supposedly "backup" plan just now put out there by McConnell "just in case they can't get a deal done, in order to avoid default, yada yada yada". The theory is, apparently, that if they give Obama the go-for-it power and he signs off on raising the limit (with a third of the Democrats--it's a complicated deal), then the Republicans point at the extra spending and say, "He did it!"

NOT the brightest move. Even Harry Reid only told McConnell he'd "consider it". I've no use whatsoever for Reid, but it's likely he can see the danger in relinquishing that much Congressional power to ANY President...where McConnell apparently can't.

Peter: Yep, we have our share of dummies, too, no question about it.

Becky, I only "sort of" answered your question. Need to add a bit more.

As for "how" they would do that: It involves passing some do-this, do-that legislation, the Prez going along with it, veto this, juggle that, and hope the whole tent doesn't fall down.

The problem is not so much in the raising of the debt ceiling per se, but in the PRECEDENT it sets. Sort of a bit of Congressional hara-kiri.

I understand now. I went and found the article and you finished explaining to me. My husband is having fits over Obamas' comment about the checks. I am going to be hearing about it and needing some nerve pills before it is over.

You're not the only one. EVERY American with a partner prone to panic is going to be going through the same thing. One more BIG thing to lay at the Fibber in Chief's door come Election Day 2012.

At least, I'm pretty sure this little maneuver of Obama's will motivate me to lose more sleep and write a few dozen more Hubs between now and then. I'm not really pleased about him deliberately panicking my woman.

I would like to ship my PTSD husband over to show him what he has caused.

Throw Pam in that mix and he'd be shaking in his whatever-he-wears. But never doubt he INTENDED such results...he's just never had to LIVE WITH 'em.

That WOULD be a delightful prospect....

Pam's not officially diagnosed with PTSD, but after having had her ex force her out of the home, and having subsequently had to survive homeless until the day she and I met....

Whenever anything like this happens, she immediately flashes back, starts seeing herself as having to hunt for a bridge (or whatever) to sleep under again....

Becky 10 months ago

I understand about hunting for a bridge. We have lived in a tent also. And that is PTSD whether she has been diagnosed or not.

McConnell needs to go. Obama and his left wing loony toons need to go. We need to start electing the common man with common sense.

This is the Washington version of the game "Hot Potato". I didn't like it as a kid and I sure don't like it now.

Well, we better start learning Chinese! I sort of regret getting my T.V. hooked up after three years of no T.V. Did Alex Jones cover this? Thank you for the hub... lily

Frog. Agreed.

BPop: We never played that one (when I was a kid), but it seems to be more or less the same game as musical chairs, which we did play. I can see why you disliked it AND the current debt limit D.C. version.

Lily: Life is definitely less "jangled" with no TV (and no phone, and no nearby neighbors, for that matter).

Alex Jones is on it, yes. I don't get his radio show, but on the PrisonPlanet website, one front page article is titled,

Senator: Obama Creating Panic To Push Through Debt Hike

That article features comments by Jim DeMint, telling it the way it is.

Ghost, another great hub! I love your way with words.

I really do wish we could have a minority leader with fresher ideas and views, but unfortunately senority counts for something there. Same in the House, but at least there we have some guys with convictions.

The thing that bothers me most right now is that Obama is acting like the Congress works for him. He is trying to demand that they act, but he should have been asking them how things were going months ago. If he cared about the issue at all he should have taken the debt commission up on their proposals and tried to get some of that through Congress a while back. But now he wants to scare people who don't know any better, and there are a lot of them out there. TV commmercials with retired seniors saying he wants to cut their benefits? Please, no one is proposing that, but some will believe it because they don't pay attention to what's really happening.

Leadership is something Obama knows nothing about, and he's so lacking in ideas and the ability to compromise that he's panicking now, and trying to make the rest of us do the same.

Thanks.

The problem with McConnell is that he clearly (a) fears "bad positioning" for the GOP going into 2012 more than he fears the destruction of our nation by reckless spending and (b) does not believe in the American people enough to see that the voting population might actually be able to comprehend the real situation if Obama gets to spin it "his way".

Some of us clearly know better than that. Even some in the media are getting the message, at least if we're to judge by Newsweek's cover story on Sarah Palin. Peter J. Boyer's article is actually pretty "fair and balanced", NOT a hit piece! Impressive!

The problem with Obama is simple, deep, and deadly: He wants what he wants when he wants it, and just like the manchild he continually shows himeself to be, he uses immature tactics to GET what he wants: Nagging, lying, pouting, accusing, everything but a literal temper tantrum on the floor, kicking and screaming.

I'm not sure if he's actually panicking as you say, but that's as good a working premise as any.

What's so scary is that all this is TRUE. :(
