Janet Contreras Vs. "Silent Ed" Pastor : Tightening The Screws
64There's A Screw Loose In The White House
Long before Janet Contreras decided no one was going to step up to the plate against "Silent Ed" Pastor in Arizona CD4, liberal Progressives in America were almost orgasmically excited. They had seen one of their own manage (with the complicity of the blamestream media) to plant a hardcore disciple of Saul Alinsky's in the highest office in the land, the very Presidency of the United States of America.
The Progressives believed they'd won the brass ring. The Manchurian President was in place. It was time to take over completely, time to finish wiping out the pesky Constitutional Republic, time to replace it with yet another doomed Marxist "experiment". Not only did they finally have a Prez, but they had Congress, especially the Congressional Progressive Caucus...of which Silent Ed Pastor is a member.
Not just Silent Ed, either. According to Wikipedia,
"The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is the largest caucus within the Democratic Caucus in the United States Congress with 83 declared members...."
With all that governmental firepower in place, perhaps it shouldn't be so surprising that the radicals got all excited about what they thought they could do. They thought they could literally pull off a coup d'etat with the American people unable to do a thing about it. They thought they had enough screws to literally screw America down tight, an entire bucket of screws.
So they passed Obamacare, trampling on individual God-given Liberties as well as states' rights, without the slightest concern for consequences...and Silent Ed Pastor happily voted with them.
He wasn't yet known as Silent Ed, of course. He was, instead, happy to take credit for standing with Obama, Reid, and Pelosi. The silent part came later.
The Silencing Of Ed Pastor
Unable to find anyone else willing to stand and deliver for the Constitution in her district, conservative Janet Contreras finally realized, "If it's to be, it's up to me," and so declared her intention to challenge Silent Ed Pastor for his Arizona CD4 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. She became the Republican nominee...and by this time Ed Pastor had truly gone Silent.
Because America was not screwed down tight. America was, instead, wound up tight. The Progressives had made two politcally fatal mistakes:
1. They had horribly underestimated the Will of the People. Rather than staying in character as more than 300 million sheep bleating helplessly while being properly fleeced, they had shown their true selves, warrior cells in the body of a sleeping giant jostled rudely from nap time to face down those who would terminate Liberty in the Land of the Free. The Tea Party had not disappeared as predicted but had grown to become a massive populist uprising with firm plans to Throw The Bums Out in the midterm elections.
2. They had horribly overestimated Barack Hussein Obama. Derisive critcs often dubbed former President George W. Bush as being "all hat and no cattle"...a cool saying, though hardly true. A true description of his successor, however, might well be "all ideology and no reality". By midsummer, Democrats running for reelection were also running from Toxic-Waste Obama... though more than willing, still, to accept his fundraising skills.
Ed Pastor had nothing to say. He'd backed Obama from Day One, but now Ed was out there swinging in the wind. The Great 'Ope had proven to be a factory-defective screw, a twisted piece of cheap metal useless for the simplest of wood-fastening tasks. When he contemplated this cruel irony of Fate, his vision blurred and went all fuzzy, unable to so much as look at that messed-up screw in the White House, a royal screwup which meant decades of hard work by sneak-attack, gradualist Progressives was about to come crashing down before the onslaught of a conservative ascendancy.
The Non-Debate
Where has Silent Ed Pastor been the most silent? Why, in silently refusing to debate his opponent, Janet Contreras, of course. Duh. Janet is a firecracker. Like Sarah Palin, she has no fear whatsoever when it comes to speaking her mind. She backs SB 1070 (the Arizona illegal immigration law), supports the Second Amendment, will vote to repeal Obamacare, etc. What could Silent Ed say to all that? He's an open borders advocate, loves Obamacare but doesn't dare brag about it before the election, hates SB 1070...and he isn't too crazy about your right to defend yourself from home invaders in the violent city of Phoenix, either.
Heck, were I in his position, I'd be silent, too.

And he can stay silent. Those numbers regarding the Congressional Progressive Caucus are frightening. I hope we are gonna be able to do something about that in the future.
Great work on this hub Ghost.
If you want to vote out all the members of the Progressive Congressional Caucus, you first need to know who they are. To find out, visit that Wikipedia site again, "Progressive Congressional Caucus". They list the states that have members. For instance, in Virginia, Wikipedia lists one member, Jim Moran of the Eighth District.
Rock em Ghost! I finally published a hub today. It's been festering up. (laughing)
I think the elections are going to make us happy. Folks like yourself doing the homework for the rest of us sure helps Ghost.
thanks,
