Hawk and Raven Declare Media Unable to Differentiate Between Political Polls and Political Fate
70The hawk and the raven were flying so high, sharing airspace in the Arizona sky
Hawk said to Raven the view is so clear, I can see all the way to November from here
But there's a big smog bank where the media dwells and the prognosticators are casting their spells
Political fortunes are endlessly told by the talking heads who are getting so bold
Declaring they know for every candidate the ins and the outs and the ultimate fate
Yet the only sure thing as they're singing their song is that nine times out of ten they are horribly wrong
They go on TV and get paid nine to five, but the People aren't buying their shuck and jive
Instead of being cast in concrete stone, the primaries are setting a different tone
Raven replied in his raven-croaky voice, I know what you mean about the voting People's choice
Not a single one of that talking-head bunch guessed Santorum would up and eat Romney's lunch
They had Mitt up two-and-oh, likely running the table, never guessing Newt would turn out to be ultimately able
To whack the Massachusetts Moderate right on the jaw while reading him the riot act from Carolina law
Now the latest word inside the news today is the way some folks are estimating the ball's in play
They give Obama better odds with every strengthening of Newt in the obvious belief the Prez simply can't lose
Now you know I'm a raven and I'll eat road kill, but I want what they are smoking; that would fill the bill
I know that you're an analyst who understands the game; would you share it with the readers so they'll comprehend the same?
The hawk said no, I'm gonna let young Gato cat do the pontificating since he's where it's at
Sitting in the Border Fort with big gold-green eyes; he can tell us how to tell when the media lies
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So Gato fired up and he pointed out that the polls don't know what they're talking about
Obama's up against it and then again some, and the folks who don't get it are either incredibly dumb
Or else in denial, wishing it weren't true, hanging onto talking points till they turn blue
Remember the election in 2008; Obama beat the John McCain / Sarah Palin slate
But he only really won by six percent and that shows a fact the Democrats resent
Any analyst with even half a brain should admit that those who voted for John McCain
Aren't about to go Democrat this time around...no matter what nominee the GOP has found
Obamacare and other things the people resent have pushed the needle to the right by more than six percent!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the wall and the writing on there is anything but small
Ann Coulter's got her head where the sun don't shine when she says a Gingrich nomination means an historic landslide
In favor of the President is what she means, but I say the lady's been smoking moonbeams
We could nominate a broomstick and still win next fall, no matter what the pundits say, no matter at all
Yes, I know that's true, though I'm just a cat; now Remember in November 'cause that's where it's at!
Remember in November!

Hey Fred,
Great poem. You know how I feel about the media so you know how I feel about your poem my friend!
jim
I have said it before and I'll say it again. Politics is easier to take in poetic form.

Nice poem but the Raven couldn't passed New England but did play its little heart out.
